Organising Principles: Vision, Mission, Values, Purpose, Measures of Success

Organising Principles are the foundations that provide and guide beliefs, behaviours, thinking, understanding, practice and what is expected of people within the organisation. There is no organisation possible without organising principles.

Best practice suggests that the organisational principles need to be reminded at least once every two years the statements of Vision, Mission, Values, Purpose, Promise and Measures of Success. These need formal refreshing and getting feedback from all employees whether the meaning of the words that are being used are understood and are in alignment.

Does everyone on your organisation know about the values system and how they should be living it? Do you have conversations about your values systems and how they are working? Is everyone aware of what the organising principles are?

We provide a fast assessment of your brand and organising principles in a unique way using on-line feedback from your employees (and even your key customers, if you wish) to provide ideas to reinvigorate they way customers, stakeholders and staff engage with and within your organisation. We have experience in developing multimedia to showcase your value systems using video, assessments, posters, banners and campaigns / roadshows.

If you don’t have clearly articulated organising principles, it leaves space for people to make their own minds up of what to do and how NOT to do things. The result is a lot of chaos and not much of organisation. A characteristic of powerful organisations are that they have clear principles that are generally agreed upon by all organisational role players with their vision that goes far into the future. The principles are embedded in the Vision, Mission, Values, Measures, Purpose and Promise statements that are advertised much like tangible products.
